NOM's unscrupulous assaults: The writing was on the billboard long ago!
As the National Organization For Marriage tries to keep some shred of credibility after what is surely the worst week in their organized existence, let us remind you of the group's first unhinged effort. Way back in October of 2007, well before the ridiculous storm clouds of '09, the group's first national campaign was to erect a billboard wherein they compared a Massachusetts lawmaker to both Benedict Arnold and Judas Iscariot:
Because writing 'We've gone nuts' on the board would've been too direct [G-A-Y]
And this was all because Rep. Puppolo was "brazen" enough to cast a vote with which NOM did not agree: A vote to keep a gay marriage ban off of the Massachusetts ballot.
So don't go thinking that this group's eyebrow-raising activities are anything new. And if you do see their wave of discrimination as eyebrow-raising, don't be surprised if your character is viciously attacked for all who are driving along Interstate 91 to see.
