Seeking: A 'rainbow coalition' willing to lie for money
You know that National Organization For Marriage ad that we've been showing you (and challenging) all morning? Well check this. Our pals at HRC have just sent us this, newly surfaced video from the casting process! No, we're not joking.
Sometimes the Intertubes are just too, too great:
This totally brings to mind the popular opening number from that long-running musical, Abhor Us Line:
♫"God I hope I get it. I hope I get it. How many fibbers does he need (How many fibbers does he need?)"♫
♫"I really need this snowjob. Please God, I need this snowjob. I've got to get this show of intolerance"♫

Your thoughts
I wonder what Greyhound Bus terminal they trolled to find that stellar pool of talent.

These are great! Actors acting....not very well either.

Funny... I though that lying and blasphemy was a sin.

Audition number 2...that girl, a doctor? No wonder she didn't get picked The whole anti-gay movement would crumble under the weight of her acting skills.
I hear Lindsay Lohan is short on jobs. Maybe they should have called her?

My favorite is the Indian girl (audition 15)...she says "a rainbow collision." seems appropriate.

For even more fun, play them together for a cacophony of lies!

Are these for real?!?!?!?!
Posted by: Michael | Apr 8, 2009 2:26:16 PM
They are indeed, Micahel. You can see that some of them were actually cast.
Clearly someone on the inside of the casting process was unhappy with the mission.

"Clearly someone on the inside of the casting process was unhappy with the mission."
Either that, or one of the money-grubbers stole the footage and sold it to Solmonese... as soon as they start down that slippery slope of engaging in deceptive public-service-announcements... theft and other debauchery is certain to ensue.
And, Gallagher's corrupting influence will only continue to destroy the moral fiber of this great nation.. unless and until the hordes stop shoveling money into the pit that she wallows (giggling) in. (Isn't THAT a pretty picture)

I'd rather see the bloopers: the ones who start with script, and then get so horny and wrapped up on the homosex subject that they go improv and inform you just how much they know about man-on-man action, in graphic detail.
Because, you know, it just disgusts them so much. And it's a sin!

I say give us their names, community theatre affiliations and email addresses so we can....oh wait...they all seem to dumb to type.

Did you hear Gallagher trying to defend the lie about the beach pavilion? Her lie that allowing the public access to the beach was the only requirement for getting the tax exemption. Miraculously, in her lying eyes, that pavilion became an entity unto itself, completely separate and apart from the property that it was sitting on. And, even though the courts and common sense refute her lie, she continues to perpetrate the lie.
And her, "Don't call someone a liar just because you disagree with them! That's just mean!" comment. I think that Solmonese was perfectly justified in calling the lying liar a liar, just because the word LIAR is the description of a liar. And, calling a liar a LIAR is much less mean spirited than LYING.
It takes a special kind of sleaze bag to fill Maggie Gallagher's shoes, and they have certainly found the perfect specimen for the job.

Funny how they try to hijack terms one by one... first it was christian bashing (omg an old lady lost her cross compared to people being killed for being gay / transgender every day) and now it's the rainbow coalition... lovely

The Clouds are dark, dark with deception and bigotry. However my friends, unfortunately, this type of campaign will be effective on those who are targeted. We can complain about this or go out and be proactive.
1. We can pass this around to friends and family, and hopefully fight fire with fire.
2. We need to be vigilant about what businesses and organizations are supporting this, stop spending money with them, and TELL them that you won't and why. ( I did this with Blockbuster!)
3. Any opportunity you have, ask a proponent, "Just exactly what are you afraid of?" Pin them down, don't let them quote the bible, the bible is not about fear it is about love. Ask them SPECIFICALLY what are they afraid of. Then rationally educate them.
4. Finally, come out, be involved, participate in conversations, debates, and demonstrations. We cannot be complacent anymore.

It is amazing at how many of these people practice medicine in California and are raising a family in Massachusetts. hahaha..... I think we should use this in our ads to show how fake they are.

Be afraid, liars ... be very afraid.
Does Skater Boy at the end of the first group ping for anyone else?

Blockbuster is pro 'anti-gay-rights'? I boycott a lot of things or even shops for various (other) reasons already, but if I find out others are 'actively' anti gay, I'm gonna have a v e r y long list to boycott some more, yesss! And I’m not even a man, or gay, or lesbian. No one (let alone the ‘state’!) has the right to dictate what others 'orientation' should be, it's not like gays tell straights, ‘you must become gay or you'll end up in hell’! If anyone is ‘ill’, then it’s ‘them’ sad bigotry idiots, yuck.

They're gone..?!
NOM pulled a copyright on them?!
WOAH!
Bah ha ha ha ha!
I should have saved those videos while I could.
Though I imagine it won't matter since I know there's plenty of people out there that saw the auditions.
Posted by: Andrea Robinson | Apr 10, 2009 12:43:27 AM
The other video is gone as well.
Haha.
Scandelous much?
Posted by: Andrea Robinson | Apr 10, 2009 12:47:34 PM
Andra: I've found new YouTube copies. The new strategy seems to be for as many people as possible to upload them to YT, so that NOM will never be able to pull the mall. TOO FUNNY!
On that note: There's a direct link in the YT videos that will let you download your own copy. So it might be handy for everyone to save a local copy.
Posted by: G-A-Y | Apr 10, 2009 3:17:35 PM
I think you meant to write "them all", not "the mall" :)
Posted by: Bill S | Apr 12, 2009 11:12:11 AM
If you want to reupload the vids and not have them be taken down you need only add an introduction of your choosing and the vids are now commentary.
Posted by: Good | Apr 22, 2009 1:27:08 AM
After watching the entire first video of bad acting, the thing that consistently bothers me the most is the fact that the line is "A rainbow coalition of people of every creed and colour ARE coming together" and not "IS coming together", as a coalition (no matter how many people involved) is a singular noun.
So not only is NOM making bad ads, with even worse actors, they seemingly can't even use English properly.

I love the woman who's wearing green in front of the green screen. She'd be a floating head in the storm.
