Video: 'Know Offense,' NOM. Know it, then stop it!
*NOM's original, for comparison:
*Ways we have quite fairly responded to NOM:
-Maggie Gallagher speaks at a university. We rationally and calmly respond to her fears.
-NOM releases incredibly low-rated "Gathering Storm" ad, and we respond to it
-NOM's embarassing casting tapes surface. We laugh at their need to fake it.
-NOM denies comments. We ask why.
-NOM issues a "fact sheet" that only gets the "sheet" part right. We clarify.
-NOM supports 2M4M. We are astounded.
-NOM is despised by YouTube community, receiving parody after parody after parody. We are proud of the Internet community's response.
-NOM is unpopular even on their own Facebook page. We take note.
-NOM forfeits chance to defend their failure of an ad. We wonder why.
-NOM overextends their copyright. We, and Maddow, call BULLSHIT!
-NOM's Maggie Gallagher compares self to Vaclav Havel. We consider the comparison.
-NOM is cited by Frank Rich as a death knell for the anti-gay movement. We thank Frank.
-Despite all this, NOM claims that their ad is a "success." We issue a mega "HA!"
-NOM has a board member who once suggested Americans should "destroy" their gay-accepting government. We think people should know this.
-They ratchet up the absurdity one more notch and actually "thank" Stephen Colbert for viciously skewering them. Plus their PR person, Mary Beth Hutchins, tweets even more denial our way. We wonder why they are so proud of resoundingly bad PR.
-NOM raises religious freedom questions. We offer a staunch, but measured, response.
-NOM has a major Facebook Organizing Fail. We pat selves on back.
-NOM compares Carrie Prejean to Queen Esther. We wonder when parading across a Vegas stage in a bikini qualified one biblical martyr status.
etc, etc.
Stay tuned for oh so many more.
Your thoughts
Well done, Jeremy!

Nicely done, JH. But I still want to see her get struck by that "Gathering Storm" lightning, and watch as her new boobies explode. Maybe I'm just sick and demented that way!

The parodies are great, but not even necessary! NOM is basically a parody of itself. The videos they put out support what they're fighting against, if anything, as they make complete fools out of themselves and lie blatantly.
Nom nom nom.

Thanks Jeremy,
I'm sad that my husband and I live in CA and she 'represents' me.
I found another of her videos here:

Why is NOM spending $1.5 million on anti-gay ads when the country is in the midst of the worst recession since the Great Depression? I'm getting pleas weekly from charities telling me how far down their donations have fallen. How many meals could $1.5 million buy? How many foreclosures could be stopped or slowed with $1.5 million? How many school programs could be saved with $1.5 million? Why is a group which purports to reflect "Christian values" not doing as Christ commanded and spending this money on helping the less fortunate?

You guys rock! Thanks for standing up against these strange political moves NOM is attempting to make. Can I make a request for a video though? The one thing that always trips me up when I try to discuss marriage equality is people's fear that it would take away church rights. Can you make a video that clearly explains how federal marriages are not the same thing as church marriages, and that if gay marriage is legalized, only the churches that are open and loving toward our communities will give us church marriages? And that closed-minded churches won't be affected at all? (unless using government property) That would be awesome if you could. Again, thanks so much for standing up and clearing the air of lies! Keep up the great work.
