Video: Promotion Trumps all
From MSNBC: Carrie puts blame on any and everyone but herself, while Donald Trump enables the whole charade:
Oh no she didn't just invoke constitutional rights and the denial thereof! How dare she?!?! What, did we mean gays also deny her of the right to remain unhandled by a top evangelical PR firm who could promote her socially conservative views?!
Oh, and President Obama: Now is the time to distance yourself from the idea that loving same-sex couples are somehow "satanic"! Your convenient political posturing has become incredibly inconvenient for those of us who are fighting for FULL civil fairness!!
Your thoughts
Apparently Donald thinks any publicity is good publicity.

Even without an apology to the LGBT community, I'd have been fine with it if Trump had purported to create a compromise between the pageant and Ms. Prejean, bringing her back into the fold, where she'd ostensibly avoid contact with NOM, Dobson, et al. But given what she was allowed to say (she never was an activist anyway??? WHAT???), I doubt that's the case.
I hope Donald sees the nipple pictures of Ms. Prejean that just came out today and gags on those a little.

About the Mr. President stuff...don't hold your breath...ain't happening. Prejean and the rest of the professional anitgays will continue to point out the Prez agrees with them.

She is so despicable. I am seething watching this. Did she really say that she was silent for the past three weeks? She didn't have speaking engagements at her church, Liberty University, San Diego Christian University, The Today Show? She didn't agree to appear in a NOM ad, or record a message for a robocall?
And why didn't Trump mention the real issue, which was that she was missing engagements because she was working with anti-gay organizations, violating her contract in two different ways?
Am I in the real world? It's like I'm watching the 30 Rock episode about The Bubble, where pretty people aren't treated like real people. I'm so pissed.

If it hadn't been for Perez Hilton, no one would ever have known anything about Carrie "Bare, Fake Titties" Preach-on. And, the big yawn that was the Miss(ed) USA would have just slumped into history, like it has every year since Trump bought it.

The First Amendment clearly states that "Congress shall make no law...abridging the freedom of speech." So, unless the wrong that has been done to her has been done through an act of Congress, her right to Constitutionally protected freedom of speech has not been violated. In fact, if her grandfather and she believe so strongly in the freedoms he fought for, they should support Perez Hilton's right to call her whatever names he chooses (I would suggest that he keep his mouth shut though, since he seems to only make things worse by opening it).
