Video: ♪Start spreading the unprincipled dogma

by Jeremy Hooper

Continuing along their quest to make their organizational name shorthand for "unabashed gay detestation," NOM is now targeting New York with short-sighted representations of inclusive reading materials, opt-in field trips, and freedom in general:

(*NOTE: this version of the ad has been pulled and replaced with this one. Find out why this version was pulled right here. Find out why the second version is just as bad right here.)

And as for those New Yorkers who want their kids to respect all people, support equal access to love, and find basic civil rights for gay people to be a noble goal? Well maybe when society largely starts supporting the greater good rather than the lesser ills, then some group will come along and exploit that set's desires. But for now, we still unfortunately live in an all-too-cruel world where the rancid vinegar of those who wish to stir up base discrimination via fear and bias is often able to catch more bees than is the tasty sweetness of those who simply want to love their honey. And no group has more bitterly bottled this mean-spirited, anti-intellectual vinegar than the National Organization For Marriage.

Yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck, yuck.

*UPDATE: They misspelled 'marriage.' HA, HA, HA!!!!! [G-A-Y]

**UPDATE: See the stock photos they used in the ad. Here and here and here and here, etc. (H/t: Blabbeando). It's interesting to note the intentional diversity in image selection.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I love how these groups, who are so against any sort of civil rights for anyone who isn't straight, white and Christian, put Latinos and African-Americans in their ads.
