NJ Video: Pride comes before the fall (election)
While New York progressives offer a collective "WTF?!" in regards to today's attempted Senate coup, let's all momentarily turn our attention to New Jersey. It is in that more southernly Garden where Gov. Corzine, who desperately needs LGBT support in his reelection bid, is not only acknowledging us in his stump speeches -- he's actively selling his support for us as an unabashed plus:

A nice display from the once tentative, now unapologetically supportive guv. Compare it with Corzine's GOP challenger, Chris Christie, who includes this under the "shared values" section of his website:
I also believe marriage should be exclusively between one man and one woman. While, I have no issue with same sex couples sharing contractual rights, I believe that marriage should remain the exclusive domain of one man and one woman. If a bill legalizing same sex marriage came to my desk as Governor, I would veto it. If the law were changed by judicial fiat, I would be in favor of a constitutional amendment on the ballot so that voters, not judges, would decide this important social question.
Shared Values [Chris Christie]
Wow, he has "no issue" with our "contractual rights"? How sweet. Wonder if he'll also allow us to drive within ten feet of his car on the Turnpike, or if we'll be given a separate and unequal lane for that as well. Because, ya know, we'd really hate to step on any toes in terms of utilizing our full, tax-paying citizenship. [::annoyed writer rolls eyes at 60mph, no E-Z Pass required]
New Jersey: Please be as fair-minded as we think you are!
Your thoughts
That's why we really have to hope they can pass this during their "lame duck" session. Because things aren't looking all that rosy for Corzine in the polling.

Chris Christie is a corrupt fat fuck. That's how we call 'em in Jersey.
