A challenger for Sally? Brittany fits the role to a T
Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern has more than proven herself to be a militant foe of the LGBT community. She's not a mere "traditional values" politician who gay baits out of opportunism. Sally is an out and proud fringe activist, gladly joining the likes of Peter LaBarbera and Matt Barber at events where so much as drinking a bottle of Gatorade without first blacking out the label's opening syllable would be enough to get one booted.
So what kind of person does Rep. Kern rightfully deserve to face in her 2010 bid for reelection? Well here, let's let GossipBoy tell ya about the perfect candidate for us to all start getting behind:
Earlier today Gossip Boy leaked that Brittany Novotny, an OKC transgendered attorney, had been exploring the possibility of running against Oklahoma State Representative Sally Kern for the House District 84 up for election in 2010. We can now confirm that Novotny has filed Form SO-1 (Statement of Organization) with the Oklahoma State Ethics Commission to begin raising funds for her likely campaign against Kern, who has become notorious for her anti-gay crusade and attempts at forcing Biblical laws and beliefs into schools, libraries, and state laws.
Named Brittany Novotny 4 HD 84 in 2010, the candidate’s committee is officially located at P.O. Box 374; Bethany, OK 73008. Novotny can now be reached for campaign purposes at [email protected]. Assigned as treasurer for the campaign is William Gleason of Norman, OK.

Now let's be honest here: It aint gonna be a cakewalk to get a transgender candidate elected in a district that chose to send Sally back into office even after her "gays are worse than terrorists" revelations. But if anyone is up to a fight against book-banning, queer-decrying, pistol-toting Sally, we'd imagine it to be a transgender woman who has to deal with her conservative surroundings on a day-to-day basis.
Novotny 2010! Kern 2-0-1-massive karma bill?

Your thoughts
I doubt she'll win, its frickin Oklahaoma, but you never know. She might get a big boost simply because I doubt her ads and speeches will be half as vile and offensive as her oppositions rantings that I'm certain will go into great detail about 'vile perverts' and 'men in dresses'

I am glad that Novotny is running against Kern; however, there is no way she will win. As a local Oklahoma City guy, I cringed as I saw Kern re-elected despite her ignorant tirade (I'm sure you remember, the one where she compared gays to extreme Islam). I'm proud that Novotny is standing up and representing! If I were part of that district, she certainly would have my vote.

Hopefully in this recession era, someone will hear her story and be able to support and donate from BIG FUNDS. She will need support from Victory Fund, PFLAG, HRC and GLAD to get through this one.. Good luck to her.

snip: The Baptist Messenger, the official newspaper of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, published Kern's proclamation in its July 16 edition, making the document appear to be on state of Oklahoma "executive department" letterhead, complete with the state seal and signatures of Gov. Brad Henry and Secretary of State Susan Savage.

I have a campaign slogan for her:
"Sally Kern is why most people now see OK as an acronym for a circus full of Oafish Kooks. Let's make Oklahoma - OKay again."
