I just don't get LaBarbera. It's not like people will be ripping off clothes and laying each other out in the middle of the street. This isn't a bacchanal, it's a kiss-in. I could understand if someone was having an all-nude fun-run in front of an elementary school, but this?

Once, I was on the DC Metro with my boyfriend. My stop came and he wanted to kiss me goodbye. I didn't want to, for fear that I might offend people. Two steps onto the platform, I realized that for every person who might be offended by a kiss, there could be a closeted teenager, wrestling with his soul.

What better way to show people the simple, honest love that two people can share. And if someone sees it and realizes gays are normal, then all the better. From that day on, I have never recoiled from a kiss :)

if 2 men kiss they are wielding perversion and yet according to LaBarbera's own words killing another man is just justice.

That would be far more effective than “hate crimes” laws in deterring such attacks in the future."

The problem here is that the bible says "thou shalt not kill" it didn't follow that with "unless" it just stated thou shalt not kill. You don't get to call us perverts for not following your version of the bible unless you are going to follow the same book.

As I said before, probably here, Porno Pete's real problem is that this'll be done in daylight, without leather or chaps or flogging, and women will be involved.

Of course, we've kissed in public just to make a point before. My favorite time was when a Muslim neighbor got angry because we kissed *on our own front stoop* and told us to stop for the sake of her children. This was just a peck on the cheek. I tried to engage her. My wife, who is far more direct and less verbal than I am, had a better idea. My hair is usually to the middle of my back; L'Ailee bent me so far back the ends of my hair reached the sidewalk, took off my glasses, and proceeded to deep-kiss me like she was going off to war! When we came up for air, the neighbor was gone, but several people were watching.

I really wish that woman would come around complaining again. And Porno Pete, you're welcome in my neighborhood anytime. ;-)

The streets of LA are poisoned with violence. Three children died in foster care this year, and an angel faced little guy all of six years old named Daevon Bailey was beaten to death by his step father (who is still at large).
Daevon had been abused his entire little life, and his neglectful mother left him with a man who had a criminal record of violence.

I think little Daevon and every little child like him would have benefited from seeing LOVE in the world. People showing how warm and safe they can make each other feel.

That's absolutely right, Pete: Hate-mongering is exactly what young children need to grow into well-adjusted, "normal" adults. Heaven forbid they should be exposed to something as corrupting as two people expressing their love and affection for one another!

How is straight people kissing in public is any different from me and my girlfriend kissing?
