Video: 'Love Won' may be out, but nonsense is still woefully in

by Jeremy Hooper

Focus on the Family may be cutting its Love Won Out program loose, but don't you dare think they're gonna cut out their "gays can change" activism anytime soon. In fact they've just put forth a new video in which they use the same skewed Jones & Yarhouse study that we mentioned earlier today to further foster the fibbery:

Really? The APA's stance has never been backed by research, Kim? That's what you're going with? Okay, uhm -- please excuse me for a minute...

[::writer puts pillow to his face and dissolves into a maniacal fit of laughter. He becomes so hysterical at the fact that someone like Kim Trobee, the backer of a movement that is defined by non-science, could say such a thing, that he literally makes himself pass out. Seconds turn to minutes, then minutes to a half-hour. Writer then slowly comes to, a bit dazed and confused as to where he is. But then he looks at the FOF video that he's left looping on his computer screen, and he's again reduced to what can only be accurately described as a guffaw-a-palooza. After another hour of chortling without so much as coming up for a breath, there is a knock at writer's door. It's the police. It turns out that writer's neighbor has filed a noise complaint. The two cops are stern and cold with writer. Writer, still barely able to contain himself, runs over, grabs his laptop, and plays Kim Trobee's ridiculous claim. Policemen are immediately and officially recruited to Laughfest '09. In fact the three men, lovers of fact and accuracy all, are unsure if they will ever again be functional human beings.

Breathe. Breathe. You can do this, writer. You can find your bearings enough to end this post. Breathe. Breathe. Just type a few words and end this post. You can do this without succumbing to snickers. Focus. Focus on the Faulty. Focus....

Your thoughts

They operate exactly like creationists, they actually have an easier job than creationists. Creationists also have to come up with bullshit to support their religious position, but the rocks and DNA aren't gonna lie for them. They cant threaten the DNA with eternity in a fiery pit of torture if it doesnt deny its evolutionary purpose. They cant chastise the rocks as being weakwilled demented perverts if they dont 'choose' to stop being millions of years old.
Exodus and the anti-gays have it easier, they can threaten and brainwash people into saying whatever they want, and even when their measure of 'change' is just claiming to be straight they cant get a significant amount to do so.

I read something once about how even if we assumed their results are accurate *like trusting astrologers to come up with an accurate study of the validity of astrology* they're pathetic, if someone tried to claim they had 'cured' cancer with so few, and obviously biased, successes they'd be laughed out of the room.

I left homosexuality a week ago. Or, more accurately, he left me.

But he'll be home again on Saturday.

I can't wait.

Because, you know, we're only homosexual if we're having sex.

I noticed that in her report, she left out the fact that the APA said that reparative therapy is harmful to patients.

Dear Kim Trobee, Your hair is horrible...those chunky highlights were definitely done by a gay man as revenge.

(sorry Jeremy, I couldn't think of anything constructive to say).
