'As if it matters'
![]()
“I love the gay press,”...“I really am impressed with gay journalists, as a group. I like reading the marriage issue in the gay press because they cover it as if what happens matters, whereas if you read The New York Times, it’s always about how this is going to affect who gets elected president.”
-NOM's Maggie Gallagher, speaking to The Washington Independent
Uhm yea, Magster: We do kind of care whether or not folks are free to use their exclusive religious views to roll back our civil rights. Thanks for recognizing our commitment to preserving not only our own families, but also fundamental American liberties!
Now we just need you and your friends in the gay-hostile press to stop being "impressed" enough with us to impress your own personal editorial decisions upon our ring fingers, genitalia, and benign placement within the American citizenry!
Your thoughts
I'm sorry but THAT woman makes me sick!

Wow. Talk about arrogance. Now there's somebody who totally ignores reality and hasn't figured it out why gay people and their supporters have been fighting for the right to marry.
I've got one word for you Maggie. It starts with the letter B and it rhymes with witch.

And there you have it: Ms. Gallagher doesn't think that our lives matter. That is the empirical difference between our sides, we believe that everyone matters and they believe that only those who share their narrow world view matter.

SammySeattle,
That's not all. They are willing to die and go to their "reward in heaven" to kill us. There's a huge difference between what they believe and what we know as fact. Please do not discount the lenghts to which these people will go to win this war.

".. they cover it as if what happens matters.."
Is she insinuating that it doesn't matter?? Maybe that is how someone as woefully vile as her can sleep at night, because she is just in it for a paycheck, and the end result doesn't matter. To her, obviously, what happens doesn't matter, but she also seems to be suggesting that it doesn't matter to us.

If this vindictive she-devil didn't think that marriage mattered, she wouldn't be so bitterly ensconced against me, MY life, MY love, and the freedom of MY future family.
Perhaps Maggie, because of her love for gay journalists, will read this blog, this post, and this very comment. Keeping that in mind, I have one thing to say:
This may not matter to you (obviously it shouldn't since it doesn't affect you in any way), but it matters to me, and it DIRECTLY affects my life. So f%#& you, Margaret Srivastav, for trying to further deny me happiness to make up for your lack of the same.

Let me float this hypothesis: She doesn't really care about the gays or gay marriage at all. She's admitting here that she's zeroing in on a small segment of the population - a segment that the mainstream media (and by extension the general public) isn't particularly concerned about. This doesn't jibe because our gay marriages, if you listen to her rhetoric, are more-or-less going to bring about the end of the world.
Now one possible explanation for this behavior is that she's a high-functioning individual suffering from a serious obsessive/compulsive disorder - OR - more probably, she's making bucket-loads of money and she's hobnobbing with political players and absolutely loving it. Her NOM events are flops and she's giving big but not 'huge' bucks to state campaigns. You want to bring her down? Get someone to look at her books. Just a hunch.
Thoughts?

Everyone, I'm sorry to break it to you, but your love really DOESN'T matter! The only thing that matters is the sanctimonious act of bringing together the two great halves of humanity in love. Despite my having birthed a child outside of wedlock, I believe that opposite marriage is the ONLY environment suitable for raising children. So you fags can just man up and marry a woman, or else your families mean nothing!
Love,
Maggie "Mags" Sriv- (oops!) - Gallagher.
