La Shana Tovah, Tony Perkins!
If the Family Research Council is so concerned with respect for religion, then why are they holding their annual Values Voters Summit during Rosh Hashanah, the biggest holiday on the Jewish calendar? Do they not like potato kugel or something? Or is is that their version of religious respect is limited only to the set that celebrates new years on 12/31?
Mother Jones is among those asking why, exactly, FRC see the Jewish vote as being worth bubkes:
Jews: Not "Values Voters"? [Mother Jones]
Your thoughts
I've said it before, but it bears saying again, the only thing that the religinistas hate as much (or more) than us is other religions. Strange bedfellows indeed!

Fundamentalist Christians only PRETEND to care about Jews because they believe that by restoring Israel to its biblical glory, Jesus will come back and the End Times will begin. They don't give a crap about their religion; they assume Jews don't believe in Jesus only because "they have been persecuted for centuries by Christians", but fundies would just say "Those weren't true Christians" and hope to convince them that "Yeshua" is their messiah.
Just like all those "ex-gay" organizations are just ploys from the religious right, so is "Jews for Jesus" and all other proselytizing groups.

One of the major memes pervading The FRC is that they are being persecuted for their beliefs.
(sarcasm)What the hell would Jews know about being persecuted?(/sarcasm)

Large pro-bullying, pro-hate crimes, pro-homophobia activist groups could not care less about religious liberty (unless it's their own). If they did, they would not corrupt constitutions to take away the religious liberty of pro-equality Americans and churches. Their perverted idea of religious freedom is actually religious tyranny!
