Lo giving 'Kept' a go

by Jeremy Hooper

Screen Shot 2009-09-25 At 4.09.35 Pm-1Coming soon to a Logo near you:

The show, tentatively titled Kept will air on all-gay, all-day channel Logo. It will focus on fabulous Manhattan party boys who like boys living the high-life. They're hoping that there may be some sugar daddy element involved (hello, what gay boy doesn't want their own Big Poppa?), but they won't know until the show is cast.

It's light, fun, fluff. We get it, and may even watch it. But ya know, we can't help but think what a shame it is that Logo itself didn't have a sugar daddy. Then the network could've maybe, oh, I don't know -- KEPT THEIR F***ING NEWS DEPARTMENT!!!!!!! Priorities and all.

But hey, you never know: Maybe the decision by America's potentially powerful outlet of LGBT progress to completely excoriate their news and political voices in favor of "reality" is some sort of responsible, deeply needed community contribution of which we're just not familiar.

Your thoughts

This isn't a surprise - LOGO is doing the same thing LGBT print media is doing pandering to the overly sexualized, youth obsessed, lowest common denominator portions of gay culture. SAD!
