Video: 'No on 1' schools their opposition (*with an actual teacher, not a 'teacher type')

by Jeremy Hooper

You've seen/heard the "yes on1" campaign's bad radio and TV spots. You've seen our two response videos. Now check out what the official "NO ON 1!" campaign has to say about their organized opposition:

Firm. Fair. And thoroughly Maine. Our side = awesome; our side = equality!

Your thoughts

Finally! A pro-equality campaign with some balls. And, they were pretty quick with a response - very impressive.

This is a good ad. It is miles better than the weak, muddled ads from the No on 8 campaign. No on 1 deserves credit for getting it up and running so quickly. I do hope that they have some stronger and, yes, harsher ads in the pipeline. The opposition is ruthless and will slap them with the school and church taxation issues over and over. They will hit hard and No on 1 must hit back HARDER or they will lose. I watched it happen in California and I fear I am going to see the same result in Maine.

Finally, donate to No on 1. Even if you can only give a small amount it will help.

I agree, WilliamM. If I were them, and I acknowledge in advance that it might be a bad idea, but I would be putting together a "best of" reel of Steven Anderson, WBC and other hate spewing religinistas and have it ready at the fore as election day approaches.

I also, again probably not the best idea, would have no (zero, zilch, zip, nada) problem with pointing out the "overcompensating" that the Catholics are doing in their attempt to deflect the blame for their child-molesting ways off onto others. They have no shame when it comes to stepping into the fray, but they should be VERY ashamed. I am more of a "the best defense is a good offense" kind of guy, so I tend to go for the jugular.

I hope "No on 1" doesn't hesitate on mentioning religion: Q1 is discriminatory not only for same-sex couples, but also for CHURCHES THAT SUPPORT GAY MARRIAGE! Q1 is not about "religious freedom", quite the opposite.

I'm in California and I lived through the Prop. 8 commercials from the same groups now trying to corrupt Maine's laws. Anti-gay activists will use the same dishonest themes over and over: Churches will be forced to marry gay couples, pastors could be fired for refusing; gay marriage will be taught to children in school and/or gay sex will be taught to children in school. We here did not fight these lies enough and they enabled the anti-gay side to win. I hope in Maine the pro-equality side does a better job. This commercial is a good start.
