Wait, isn't 'Out' the lifestyle imprint?
Maine. Washington. The death of our community's most prominent senatorial ally ever. The National Equality March and the debate surrounding the same.
But hey, we guess this is a good of an option as any for the October cover of the LGBT community's most prominent national newsmagazine:
Andy Knows Best [Advocate]
Look, we're not gonna lie: We'll read the article. And the pic's adorable. But we're just saying we'd prefer to see this sort of puffy fluffy cover on outlets like Out, Entertainment Weekly, or TV Guide, not on the one national news monthly that's supposed to bring substantive issues to a community deprived of traditional print outlets who are willing to dedicate resources to the same!
Or maybe we're just bitter that Andy Cohen rejected our "Real Homo of The Blogosphere" audition tape.
Your thoughts
I agree with you completely. The advocate has really slipped.

Gay print media is beyond dead. Both the Advocate, and OUT, have absolutely zero relevance in the LBGT community.

I've been saying that since for a long time now. It was Rolling Stone magazine which did a HUGE expose on the religious right in either 1997 or 1998.

There was a while I read theadvocate.com, but even that is prone to spelling mistakes and lousy music. It's sad.

Print Media is dead. The Advocate is doing the only thing it can do and that is selling to the lowest common denominator.
With the internet literally in the palm of your hand - very few of us get our "real" news for magazines and newspapers anymore.

hmmm...isn't Jay Leno on the cover of Time magazine this week? Sure are lots of big issues going on in the world like health care and the economy. I agree more news would be great on the cover, but there's more to a magazine than the cover.
