AG exam: Will 'Yes' get a 'NO!'?
We can write as many blog posts, create as many parody videos, and haul out as many facts as we want. But as for a surefire way that we can answer the politically-motivated questions that Maine's "Yes on 1" campaign keeps raising in their school-centric ads? Well, this is a good start:
State education commissioner Susan Gendron is asking the Attorney General’s Office to help settle whether Maine’s gay marriage law will affect curriculum in public schools.
As part of its campaign in support of the Question 1 ballot initiative, Stand for Marriage Maine has aired several television ads claiming that unless the law is repealed, same-sex marriage could be taught in schools.
Gendron and Maine education officials have said that the law will have no impact on curriculum decisions. While Stand for Marriage Maine has defended the ads as raising legitimate questions, the campaign to defend Maine’s same-sex marriage law has accused the opposition of employing distortion and scare tactics to sway public opinion.
But in response to continuing questions from the media and the public, Gendron sent a letter to Attorney General Janet Mills on Wednesday asking for an analysis of the law and any legal ramifications of a Massachusetts court decision referenced in the ads.

Now, it should come as no surprise that the "yes on 1" campaign is already trying to invalidate whatever findings may come from this, working overtime to paint all of the involved parties as being agenda-driven liberals. But go ahead and let them. Because if the state Attorney General does step up and counter the "Yes" side's deceptions (and really, how could she not?), then there are going to be far more Mainers who gain exposure into the methods and practices of "Stand For Marriage Maine" than there will be Mainers who buy into the idea that every last official in the state is willing to put their careers on the line just for the sake of politics. Stand For Marriage Maine's brave face will certainly start to crack once their costly ads earn a filing grade.

**UPDATE, 10/15: the report is up. And it's FANTASTIC: 'Whatever the benefits and burdens of the civil institution of marriage, the state’s definition of marriage has no bearing on the curricula in our public schools, either under current law or under LD 1020.' [G-A-Y]
Your thoughts
The lying liars are very quick at trying to undermine attempts at determining the truth that can do nothing but put an end to their lies. The facts don't benefit them, and instead do paint them as the liars that they are.
