New York: If you wanna ring on your digit, ring your lawmakers' digits!
Yesterday we told New Yorkers that they need to get their arses in gear and call their state Senators. Today, we find out more as to why the coming days are so crucial:
Gov. David Paterson says he wants to put a bill to legalize same-sex marriage to a vote within weeks during a special session of the Legislature.
The Democrat says the bill would be part of unfinished business from the regular session that ended this summer in a tumultuous power struggle in the Senate.
Same-Sex Marriage Vote In NY Back On Track [WCBS]
Yes, that's right: By the time the Macy's parade rolls into town, we could have marriage in the Empire State. Wouldn't it be nice to sit back and watch those big bags of empty air, knowing that another state has rejected the big bags of empty rhetoric that have been raining on (and reigning over) our parades for far too long already? We think so.
So we're gonna ask you again to CALL YOUR SENATOR:
NO MORE WAITING! MARRIAGE EQUALITY NOW!
Don't let our opponents' hot air balloon up any further.
