Peter, Paul, and anti-marry: 'No on 1' to challenge 'Yes on 1's' liability-in-waiting
Yesterday we told you that certified hate group leader Brian Camenker and certified for of the 'mos Peter LaBarbera (whose former employer, the Illinois Family Institute, was also once on the SPLC's hate group list because of something Pete wrote) are holding a "yes on 1" press conference alongside local Maine anti-equality personality Paul Madore. Fortunately, our side realizes a good opportunity when they see one:
For Immediate Release:
NO on 1 Campaign Manager Goes to State House to Respond to Anti-Gay, Anti-Marriage Attacks
Jesse Connolly, the NO on 1/Protect Maine Equality campaign manager, will attend the Maine Grassroots Coalition/Stand for Marriage Maine press event this morning at the Hall of Flags in the State House. Among those attending their press event are Brian Camenker of Mass Resistance and Peter LeBarbera of Americans for Truth.
“To go on Maine television and try, in the last week of the campaign, to pivot from distorting and misleading voters to a message of tolerance just isn't believable," said Connolly. "And now they're bringing two of the most anti-gay leaders in the country to the state capital. It's really pretty shameful."
The press conference begins at 11 AM. Connolly will be available to talk to reporters after the event.
Video cameras up, everyone! This event is likely to become our side's most effective ad yet!
**UPDATE: Jesse Connoly responds to what he saw at the event, fleshing out the undeniable connections between thee men and the official campaign: Camenker, LaBarbera, Madore: They came, they saw, they bore out the 'Yes on 1' connections [G-A-Y]
***UPDATE: Pam's House Blend has audio and photos from today's feebly attended presser. Notice the official "yes on 1" signage: Audio: Peter LaBarbera's anti-gay 'rally' at Maine statehouse draws feeble numbers [PHB]
