We actually wish 'yes on 1' would call us an 'abomination'

by Jeremy Hooper

The Maine Family Policy Council wants evangelicals to rest up and prepare to battle gays over Question One. Ya know, so that we "abnormal" gays don't kill them while they sleep:

The enemy comes in and becomes "one of us" unless we are discerning. For example, the Homosexual activists have been very clever in appearing as normal families while hiding the diabolical acts they engage in on a regular basis. They have infiltrated some churches becoming leaders and even clergy. God calls it an abomination and so should we.

The message was told ten times over "they are coming to kill you while you sleep, when you least expect it." Nehemiah and the builders received the news from the Jews living in the outlying areas near the opponents' camp. The Arabs, Ammonites, and the Philistines of Ashdod were planning to attack Jerusalem before the wall was completed. They would be able to take the city by surprise and destroy Jerusalem again before the wall was strengthened and complete. Nehemiah received the warning, "You’re surrounded!" For anyone, those are frightful words. They are enough to cause fear and trembling to the most trained of soldiers. Nehemiah and the builders had to deal with essentially those words. Fortunately Nehemiah heeded the warning as he had before.
Overcoming Opposition - Part 2 [MFPC]

Be sure to see the rest of the piece, where the writer, Rev. Dallas Henry, warns his supporters about being fatigued in this "battle" by using the Exxon Valdez, Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Challenger disasters as frames of reference. No, we're really not joking.

Look, it's simple: Vote No on 1, Mainers. Anything else is giving credence to this almost unbelievably inhumane, undeniably brute form of intolerance. That's not the Pine Tree State we know and adore.

Your thoughts

This article just shows how paranoid these people really are. They are a bunch of sick folks that really need cognitive dissonance therapy.

Rev. Dallas Henry is also an ardent supporter of The Promise Keepers movement: http://mainefamilypolicycouncil.com/artman/publish/Pastor_s_Update_24/Mighty_Men_Of_God.shtml. Thus, he is for keeping homosexuals and women in their "place." I have observed for years that these types are white anti-abortion, homophobic, racist, anti-semitic, even anti-Roman Catholic bigots. In other words if you are not a str8 white born again male, you are dirt. And they stand on their principles it with a smug "Christian Love."

Paranoia and such a burning desire to segregate gays from 'real humans'. He's unable even to consider us as real people, isn't he?

What an emotionally stunted and frightened little world he inhabits. It must be terrifying to be locked inside it.

These bigots claim to know the mind of their god. What they really know is the mind of a stone age control freak.

And really, the abomination thing is just too widely used. Eating shellfish is abomination too, so is having sex with ones menstruating wife. If you really want to understand it you have to read the ENTIRE Bible.

Half these bigots out there got stuck on the Pentateuch. They never read the NT books. Well, if they did they get stuck on that bigot Saul of Tarsus (Aka St. Paul) dreck in Romans, and his misogynistic shit in 1 Timouth.

The bible isn't even a good read. It's poorly written, with the exception of Revelations, that's truly psychotic shit in there!

Worth noting: At the SFMM site, the "Volunteer" link has been disabled -- it redirects to the site's home page.

So what's up with that?
* The organization is too small/disorganized to manage more help?
* Their vetting process for volunteers is too intense to be completed quickly?
* SFMM doesn't trust folks walking in off the street, and is accepting only those vetted by the Catholic church?

This is plain and simple, homosexuals have made their choice to engage in homosexuality. I made my choice to teach my children that it is a wrongful choice. It ranks up there with abortion on demand. This fight is not over anything other than we disagree with what I'm allowed to teach my children as acceptible and honorable desission making. I can and will continue to teach them right and wrong, homosexuality just happens to be one of the things I teach as wrong and as a parent its the right thing to do. There is not one wrong thing I have done that you can use to justify another wrong as acceptible. I'm not teaching them to hate you, I'm teaching them to pray for you as i would teach them to pray for the mother contemplating murder of her unborn child,or the drug addict, or the alcoholic. I teach them to pray for anyone trapped in sin.
