Bloomberg and marriage: The third term's the charm?
Last week, he won reelection. This week, Mayor Mike Bloomberg's using some of his political capital to ensure that all of his gay friends will set super-high expectations for the wedding gift that they receive from the monied mayor.
We're told that he sent one of these babies to every member of the NYS senate:

A nice move. We're not saying whether or not we voted for Bill Thompson -- but we certainly appreciate Mike's support for Bill, Principled!

Brilliant! Meanwhile, over here on the other side of the Atlantic, the mayor of Montpellier called on fellow French politicians to move ahead on allowing same-sex couples to marry. And Portugal's Prime Minister Sócrates is pushing his new administration to approve marriage equality.
