Video: Person of faith apologize for using gay slur? F*getabouit!

by Jeremy Hooper

It's totally okay for Chandler, Arizona's The Door Christian Center to use the word "f*ggot" in their version of a haunted house. you know, because "people say stuff all the time":

Your thoughts

From their website (well from the cache anyway - they seem to have gone offline - for the moment.):

New Times Best of Phoenix - Beware: Final Destination, in its fourth incarnation at the Door Christian Center in Chandler, is not a traditional haunted house. If you're looking for a fun and scary activity to work in between bouts of recreational drug use, promiscuous sex, and idol worship, this "haunted house-style attraction" run by evangelical Christians is not for you. Unless, that is, you're willing to watch a doctor hold down a screaming patient during a mock abortion before going back to your normal weekend routine of smoking up a hooker (using a Bible as rolling paper) while listening to Marilyn Manson. Final Destination is, however, very well put together, with great acting, impressive production values, and passionate workers who'll do their best to save your soul. If you're a remorseless heathen who's Hell-bound anyway, or if you're maybe interested in getting saved, Final Destination makes for a pretty ***** entertaining night.

Offensive and disgusting. Glad I stayed home and handed out candy.

"So? People day stuff all the time" Sounds like something a 6 year old would say. Don't fret about the word Fag*ot, he meant it in love " because he cares about people" HAH! To think that these religious hypocrites think GAYS are the ones harming their chidren. Makes me laugh when they are found out to be FORNICATING and being LICENTIOUS. I only hope that you got a complete refund!

This is not original with these people. It apparently started in Texas. There is a documentary about this insanity http://hellhousemovie.com/

These people give teenagers guns, tell them to point them at each other and then call us dangerous? The levels of insanity around this are incredible.

The name of that Christian center seems appropriate, since they showed the critics "the door"!

This is fucking disgusting. I used to always get all sorts of advertisements for this at my high school in Chandler, and it was clearly billed as a haunted house. What an asshole.

AS a Christian, this disgusts me.
Rather, as a human, this is rotten.

As a member of this fellowship, I am proud of how they acted. God and the Bible clearly state what we believe. God warns us the entire bible of homosexuality, fornication, etc. These who practice such immorality will NOT inherit the kingdom of Heaven. We use our Hell House event as a protest to Halloween which is a celebration of the devil, witchcraft, etc. And yes we use it as a way to bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ as we are called to do. For those of you offended, Sorry but truth is truth. As for the "christian" that is disgusted, you might want to reference your bible as well. Can't be christian if you disagree with God and His wiews. God loves you and wants to save you but He hates your sin!

And do you support his usage of the word "faggot," Matt?

The bible says gays are going to hell!!! it's an abominable sin!!! If they don't repent, read it for yourself.

The truth is that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and being Gay or committing abortion are all sin. The truth is that if one repents God is willing to forgive them of all their sins. God created man and woman to be mates and bear friuts, not man and man or woman and woman. If you think this is not true please show me a male that has ever bore a child. May God help any one who reads this message to turn thier lifes around and serve God almight in truth. May God bless and prosper you.

Lily: The arrogance in your message is astounding. But not surprising, unfortunately.

LOL, I can't help but to laugh at how "offended" people were to hear the word faggot! YOU HEAR IT EVERYWHERE people, television, movies. Whats so different about you paying 10 bucks to hear it at the movie theatres THAN hearing it at a hell house?. It is hell right?? what do you expect to see/hear in there.??angels singing...?? Maybe if this church advertised the truth that it contained foul language, and gruesome violence, people would be aware and wouldn't come right???? YEAH RIGHT, the attendance would triple.......... Hipocrates those that walk out of there pissed wanting refunds!! You wouldn't go to a movie theatre and ask for your money back cause you "didnt think it was good or cause you were fooled into thinking it was gonna be a comedy but turned out to be comedy" I think the real problem here is that people get confronted with subjects, and are battling things in their own personal lives.... that would be the only reason to get so defensive.???

I saw the "Hell House" and did not see anything different than what I would have read in the news paper or I do see in the news. How many parents out there allow your children to play violent video games that show heads being blown off or where they can car jack an innocent person then beat him. Give your teenager money to watch a movie that shows a women being raped, drunkenness, or murder for drugs and money. How many people abort unborn babies and as the years have gone by thought "what if?" Log onto Youtube and just watch what our children and our society does for fun...So before you point the finger at people for telling you the truth, look in the mirror and see the real hypocrite.

Posted by: Get Real | Jan 18, 2010 3:55:57 PM

The point is not the violence of the Hell House, Get Real. haunted houses are and should be scary. At least the good ones.

The point here is discrimination, and the ridiculous attempts to justify the word "f*ggot" being used as a slur.

Posted by: G-A-Y | Jan 18, 2010 4:29:25 PM

You know that was so disrespectful what those teenagers did. I'm part of the same fellowship as the door in chandler and all I have to say is that those teens were so wrong in what they were doing. I know for a fact yeah it might have been offensive but we do care for people but we don't care for the sin that they're involved in. We want to see them come before Jesus Christ bow their knee to Him and ask for forgiveness and for Him to come into their life and forgive them of their sin. That's what I had to do and I grew up in the church. And that's what we all are trying to do is to see people saved and set free. That is truely our mission.

Posted by: davec | Jan 20, 2010 12:28:33 PM

It's hysterical to see all of these people who have clearly been directed to come leave comments.

Posted by: G-A-Y | Jan 20, 2010 12:31:00 PM

Your so hurt that someone used the word f*ggot but yet your posting is G-A-Y. This is not a race issue, this is your personal preference. If what you believe is so O.K., then why are you bothered? And believe me, no one is calling people telling them to post comments on this site. Just maybe however, someone is directing his hand towards you because he loves you just as much as anybody else. Straight or gay, druggie, alcoholic, even those who seem to be ok in society, we are all with sin but Christ can set you free.

Posted by: Get Real | Jan 21, 2010 12:03:53 PM

"Your [sic] so hurt that someone used the word f*ggot but yet your posting is G-A-Y."

Huh? I have no clue what this means.

G-A-Y = Good As You.

And I'm not "bothered." Tracking anti-gay bias is what we do on this site. So that's what's going on here. you defend it, I challenge it. The world spins madly on.
