Far-right politics have become a sewer of insoluble bullcrap. It's gross.
Not sure which is more ludicrous: The continued attack on Kevin Jennings, or the claim that The Washington Times is a "major newspaper":
The Rev. Moon-owned Washington Times just yesterday announced it'll stop even pretending to be an objective news outlet, so that it can start focusing on strengths like its "cultural coverage based on traditional values.” If Rep. Burgess wants to use one of its editorials to please the masses at the "The Family" Christmas party, then more power to him. But on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives? Well, that kind of aggressive, echo chamber-laden embrace of deliberate, disingenuous short-sightedness is, in a nutshell, everything that is wrong with conservative politics!
Kevin Jennings' entire life has been dedicated to saving vulnerable LGBT lives. But these folks overlook that point, at best, or cruelly mock it at worst. All because they are desperate to bring down a president who too has a heart for peace. Desperate to regain power, no matter the lengths.
It's cruel. It's toxic. To be frank: It's bordering on madness.

**UPDATE: In a tweet, Rep. Burgess asks of the Safe Schools position: "Do we really need this office?" Ya know, because why should a pro-life, pro-"protect the children" lawmaker care about making schools safer? [::eye roll, head shake:]
**UPDATE2: For more on the lack of merit in the Wash. Times (because it's dirty) editorial, check out Holy Bullies & Headless Monsters. Alvin's all over it.
**UPDATE3: Media Matters has more on the Jennings situation, and how the SPLC-designated hate group Massresistance has fueled it all: Anti-gay "hate group" MassResistance is source for right-wing media attacks on Jennings [MM]
As we've mentioned here before, MR was also the group behind the Wirthlin family's rise to public prominence (and multiple anti-equality campaign ads). It's interesting how the "mainstream" anti-gay movements uses the Bay State extremists when it's convenient, yet will NEVER reveal the ties!
Your thoughts
Representative Burgess, thank you for showing exactly why Kevin Jennings and his years of hard work are needed.

Yeah, he WOULD use the WaTi as an example and of COURSE they are appalled and oh, SO reluctant to use graphic sexual language to make their case.
