Why patch a flat tire that will inevitably leak again?
Jennifer Beck, Andy Ciesla, and Kip Bateman. They are three of the five Republican New Jersey senators who've announced that they, rather than do the right thing and support full marriage equality, will instead work to "strengthen" the already-failed civil unions system. This is unacceptable!
Fortunately, we're not the only ones who see it this way. Check out the 95% united way Facebook is reacting to the senators' short-sighted announcement:
A good start. But these are not enough. Go now and tell these senators why separate but UNequal is wrong, wrong wrong!!!!
Give them something to think about during their holiday break. Make them question why they would foster the kind of unequal world that detaches LGBT people from their own families! Help them avoid an awkward 2039 conversation where they have to explain to their grandchildren why they stopped short of fairness in order to appease the antiquated "culture war" remnants that used to weight down their party.
