'It's the least you could do,' said Jesus

by Jeremy Hooper

There are so, so many problems in D.C. So yesterday, a group of pastors gathered to instead "solve" a non-issue:

WASHINGTON - Opponents of same-sex marriage from around the country -- many of them black ministers -- have held a two-day summit in the nation's capital.

They're urging Congress to use its authority to block city officials' legalization of gay marriage in Washington, which could take effect in March, and to let the city's voters decide the issue.

Because strategizing ways to make 3+3 = 9 would be too productive.

Your thoughts

I'd love to see what would happen if a majority of voters of one state said that same-sex marriage would be legal. It would likely be one of the following:

A) The Christian right would say, "Oh, OK, well that's cool. Good game, old chaps. I guess you won this one" and never bring it up again.

B) The Christian right's heads would collectively explode. (Get the Brawny ready.)

C) The Christian right would scream that it's time for the judicial branch to step in and find the law unconstitutional based on the grounds of (pick one: freedom of religion/our Judeo-Christian heritage/the 14th Amendment).

D) The Christian right would demand a recount and then a full investigation into the election, asserting that voter fraud must have taken place and that Satan and his LGBT minions stuffed the ballot boxes.

E) The Christian right would say, "That's it, we're doomed! Get a brimstone-proof umbrella!" and then leave the country for an island in an undisclosed part of the world.
