'L' or j/k? For Janet Porter, Kagan conjecture is enough for condemnation
The only people who have publicly addressed Elena Kagan's sexuality say that she is, in fact, heterosexual. But why should far-right radical Janet Porter let a little thing like known body of knowledge stop her anti-gay attacks?
Lesbian Nominated to Supreme Court
President Obama has nominated Elena Kagan, whom CBS News reported to be a lesbian, as his choice to replace the retiring John Paul Stevens on the U.S. Supreme Court.
ACTION STEPS:
1.The following seven Republicans sadly voted for Kagan in 2009 in the 61-31 vote to confirm her as Solicitor General. Please call each to say "oppose and filibuster Elena Kagan" right away. Let's seize momentum! Kyl (R-AZ, 202-224-4521), Hatch (R-UT, 202-224-5251), Coburn (R-OK, 202-224-5754), Lugar (R-IN, 202-224-4814), Snowe (R-ME, 202-224-5344), Collins (R-ME, 202-224-2523), Gregg (R-NH, 202-224-3324). Also please call new Senator Scott Brown (R-MA, 202-224-4543)
2. Chaplain Klingenschmitt's Pray in Jesus Name organization can send a fax petition to all 100 U.S. Senators, or a couple of smaller groups of swing-vote or Judiciary Committee Senators on your behalf, opposing this nomination.

So not only is Janet joining groups like Focus on the Family in saying that a gay or lesbian nominee would be unacceptable. She's not even following Peter LaBarbera in demanding that Kagan spill the Sapphic beans. Janet's just coming right out and saying, as fact, that a non-out person is an out lesbian, then using that perfectly benign and natural characteristic (true or not) as shorthand to say, "Bork the lezzie now!"
But then again, Janet is someone who recently proved herself too far to the Christian right even for the uber-conservative VCY America. Perhaps we should just be thankful that she's not demanding we dunk Kagan in a river to see if she floats.

*Oh, and feel free to call Janet's list of Senators and say, "oppose and filibuster unscrupulous anti-gay attacks."
