The Lone Gay state: Rick Perry grants gay separation a gold TX star

by Jeremy Hooper

Local reports quote him as putting forth this non sequitur:

"We're creating more jobs than any other state in the nation. ... Would you rather live in a state like this, or in a state where a man can marry a man?"

Youtube audio suggests that he actually said "guys can marry guys," not "a man can marry a man":

But one thing is for certain: Texas governor Rick Perry is using gay people's lives and loves to gay bait his way to a third term. Pitting good ol' Texas against those smelly ol' gay unions. Unions like the one shared between the mayor of Texas' largest city and her partner of twenty years.

Who knows, maybe in his third term he'll put some of this in the tourism brochures?

"TX: Come for the Alamo, stay for the bans on Als who happen to be."

"TX: Our hats are big, but our anti-gay bias is bigger"

"TX: Even our oil rigs enter through the front"

"TX: We're not Iowa"

*Libertarian candidate Kathie Glass bends almost as far to the right as Perry.
