Last time we checked, basic training doesn't include a religious test
He starts his piece with a psalm. He then segues into his own harrowing tales aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer, putting the balance between chaos and peace squarely in the heavens. And then he moves on to saying this about what "the homosexual agenda" will do to our nation's morality:
Today, though, that homeland is in the midst of a bitter moral storm that threatens the military I once served. The waves are stirred at the behest of the radical left, which demands that homosexual and bisexual behavior be normalized and affirmed in our military.
Intentionally injecting such confused sexuality into the military is foolishness. But with the Commander-in-Chief and even career-conscious top brass pushing the left’s agenda, few are willing to speak truth to power.
Yet a few—actually, quite a few, are speaking: 66 veteran military chaplains, collectively representing 1700 years of service, spoke out very clearly, and America is paying attention to their message.
Take a few minutes to read their message and view their videos, so you get to know the integrity and honor of these men. Then you, too, should speak up: let the Commander-in-Chief know that buying into the homosexual agenda will sell the military down the river—and into a sea that has no safe haven.
But this doesn't come from a preacher, mind you. This all comes from one Gary McCaleb (pic.): The Senior Counsel for conservative legal group The Alliance Defense Fund. The same ADF involved in Prop 8 defense. The same ADF that argues just about every LGBT civil rights case that comes to fruition. In a court of civil law, they do this.
So just one more reminder to evangelical conservatives everywhere: We get it -- you think we're sinners! Fine. Go for it. Condemn us and the "bitter moral storm" that apparently hovers over our heads at all times. Such is your right. We fully support this right!
But you will not -- you. will. not. -- deny that we are citizens. Ever. Not anymore. You've had a run with it, but the hand has been overplayed. A tipping point has been reached. The river now flows toward equal justice under the law, no matter how much you personally believe our queer boat is ultimately headed down the River Styx!
