Wife of iconic dancing lesbian to stake her own fame-claim?
Lance Bass may have had an opposite-sex partner. But now there's lots of chatter suggesting that Portia DeRossi-Degeneres could become the first star to dance with a same-sex partner in a televised competition organized by ABC:
She's one-half of the most famous openly gay celebrity couple. But could Portia DeGeneres soon become one-half of a same-sex dancing duo on the next season of Dancing With the Stars.

Now, it should be noted that at this point, neither Portia nor a Sapphic partner are confirmed. So for all we know, the more credible rumor might be Billy Idol (kids, ask your parents) turning "Dancing With Myself" into a DWTS ratings stunt.
But it would be kind of cool to see some same-sex grooving on national, network, primetime television. And the lady-lady swaying would totally keep in the spirit of the show, too, since DWTA has more than proven that couples can perform these kinds of close, partner dances without having to save space for any "ball room."
