Higgins claims homosexuality is like incest; NOM claims Higgins
Late last year, Laurie Higgins wrote the following about incest's supposed relation to homosexuality:
"Incestuous relations between consenting adults is no more depraved and perverse than sexual relations between two men or two women, which we now celebrate in our streets and our public schools."

In 2009, after being pressed on some even harsher language, Laurie admitted she directly compares "the rationalizations church leaders offer for the silence of the church in the face of the evil of Nazism to the rationalizations church leaders offer for the silence of the church in the face of the evil of using public schools to promulgate destructive, erroneous views of homosexuality."
And just last week, Laurie brought up incest a whopping nine times when she again drew direct analog between loving same-sex couples and those that theoretically exist between a dad and his daughter:
"Love, commitment, stability, safety, and support are, indeed, essential factors when evaluating the appropriateness of a family seeking to foster or adopt, but so too is the moral nature of the relationship of the family. Those who recoil at the idea of incestuous or polyamorous couples fostering or adopting do so out of the same kind of moral evaluation of the nature of incest and polyamory as others do out of a moral evaluation of homosexuality. Those who would prohibit loving, stable incestuous couples or polyamorous partners from fostering or adopting do so for the same kind of reason that those who would prohibit loving homosexual couples from fostering or adopting do: a belief that these kinds of relationships are morally flawed.
Some argue that the belief that homosexual conduct is morally flawed is a prejudice and cannot be imposed on all of society. But then one could reasonably argue that the belief that adult consensual incest and polyamory are immoral is an ignorant, antiquated, provincial, bigoted, hateful prejudice that ought not to be imposed on all of society.
One could also make an effective case that gender complementarity occupies such a central place in both marriage and parenting that incestuous and polyamorous partnerships are in some ways more defensible than homosexual couplings "

And what about today? Well today, the National Organization For Marriage is pushing the same Ms. Higgins as a voice for their supposedly mainstream movement:

Fair enough. Perhaps rather than their standard kid-fear ads, in the next referendum NOM will hire Laurie to create some "gay is like incest" spots. In terms of cultural damages, we're more than ready for them to ratchet up this unpragmatic "culture war" implosion.
