Video: No Alan, peer-reviewed research is your opposing force
Check out the false equivalency that Exodus International president Alan Chambers makes here:
Uhm, no Alan: LGBT-affirming churches are not your "equivalents on the gay side." These churches are more equivalent to other Christian churches, which are well represented within the iTunes store. Except, of course, LGBT-affirming churches are not hurting anyone, anyone's deserved civil rights, or anyone's access to accurate science. Some of the less-progressive churches are doing any number of those things. Exodus International is undeniably doing all three!
The reality is that there IS NO REAL EQUIVALENT to Exodus on the pro-equality, pro-credible-science side of the fence. I mean, yeah, beer has temporarily pulled a few straight men out of their gay sex resistance. And sure, college is probably the single most cited location for gay de-closetings. But in terms of an organized program that's solely designed to reject credible science in order to fulfill a pre-concocted, faith-based narrative that basically brands millions of human beings as broken and in need of repair? Exodus' cheese kinda, sorta stands alone there, buddy!
