Minnesota Family Council prez: Focus only on our current vehicle, not the sustaining gas
This is completely outrageous justification! NPR reports:
The Minnesota Family Council's website has posted inflammatory material linking homosexuality with bestiality and "other deviant behaviors," including pedophilia.
Prichard defends the postings as getting "into the nature of homosexuality and homosexual behavior," but says that won't be the focus of his group's efforts to pass the constitutional ban.
"The focus of this campaign is the nature and purpose of marriage — not a referendum of homosexuality per se, or its lifestyle activities and behaviors," he says. "I would see that as a separate issue."
Gay Marriage Activists: Minn. Vote Offers Opportunity [NPR]
No. NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! In what world can you look at documents that outright attack the "normalcy" of gays themselves and that suggest "change" as the ultimate goal and just separate those from the fight to deny gays' marriage? THE MFC WANTS TO CHANGE US, since they think "accepting homosexuals as normal victimizes homosexuals themselves"! THEY COME RIGHT OUT AND ADMIT IT (whereas with most groups, we have to cut through layers of code words)! This underlying belief system is the *very reason* why they are fighting our legal rights. And the forthcoming referendum is, for them, ABSOLUTELY, 100% about homosexuality.
In no other political fight would these overarching goals -- so clearly designed to cut right into the heart of a people and so proudly posted by this organization -- be overlooked by the media. Minnesota's rich and vibrant gay population deserves the same respect! We refuse to sit back and let this debate be presented, yet again, as just a two-sided, equally-merited debate.

**And here's yet another, courtesy of Pritchard himself, wherein the president paints homosexuality as innately harmful. Just like the far-right's old standby: Cigarettes:
