NOM/Diaz rally: You couldn't shake a science book without hitting an 'ex-gay' advocate

by Jeremy Hooper

More from Yesterday's National Organization for Marriage/Ruben Diaz, Sr. rally in the Bronx: Think Progress' Igor Volsky had quite the insightful exchange with Rev. Kittim Silva, a member of Radio Vision Cristiana (the local radio station that helped sponsor the event). Oh, and also an advocate for "changing" gays and keeping kids in the foster system rather than in loving gay homes.

Here's a snip and link to full video/transcript:

VOLSKY: But if there is also a lot of children in the foster system, do you think it’s preferable for those children to go into gay households?

SILVA:
No, I don’t think so.

VOLSKY: So it’s better for them to stay in the system, you think?

SILVA:
Yes.
...
SILVA:
Some, I believe that they born with gay tendencies, or else they become to be gays because they are looking for identity in the same way they become alcoholic, to [inaudible], and other things. I believe that sometimes what they see and they want to repeat.

VOLSKY: And do you think they can go back straight?

SILVA:
Yes, many have been changed.
