Today, Rev. Baity is rallying in NC. Responsible NC media must note how far beyond marriage his fight really goes!
Today in North Carolina, the Family Research Council's Tony Perkins is joining an anti-gay rally produced and hosted by Pastor Ron Baity and his so-called "Return America" group. A rally that the National Organization For Marriage has also promoted. So that being the case, we want to now continue our series of letting you see what, exactly, Mr. Baity's "protect marriage" fight it really all about. Because really, "protecting marriage" is just a code worded surface-scratch on the larger brass ring: Repudiating and "saving" gays in general.
It's about returning us to the wisdom of law books from 1765. We'll leave it to you to imagine what returning us to 1765 would mean for any number of groups, their acceptance, and their associated rights:

It's about writing off gay-headed families as "nauseating":

It's about claiming gays will take society "father and father and father" (polyamorous gays, perhaps?) towards the "seeds of destruction":

Because it's *ALWAYS* about more. About our families. About our benign peace. About our sexual orientations themselves.
Protect marriage is just the vehicle. It's past time those who hitch a ride within it (NOM, Perkins, et. al) start answering for their movement's actual roadmap!
