Video: Slurred words, Vander Plaats: 'That's pretty good, oh shoot'
Regular G-A-Y readers certainly know the name Bob Vander Plaats: Iowa conservative kingmaker, onetime gubernatorial candidate, supporter of state marriage ban, head of the campaign to remove judges for no reason greater than their unanimous decision supporting civil equality, leader of the group that once held seminars directly comparing gays to cigarette smoking, and supporter of the idea that homosexuality is a "public health risk."
Now add to that illustrious list: Man who gleefully laughs at "fag" jokes:

There wasn't even a moment's pause. Look around the :30 mark: There's no "yikes" instinct. No groan. Not even an awareness of his role in Iowa politics and/or the presence of cameras which one would think would make him pay heed, regardless of personal affection for the "humor." The immediate reaction is one of explosive laughter at the expense of the "fags." Because hey, if gays are a health risk that deserve to be unmarried and unprotected in law, then why shouldn't they also be joke-butts? Right, far-right?
