In July of 2008, Sen. Majority leader Harry Reid proposed the The Victims of Polygamy Assistance Act of 2008. The goal was to protect those harmed by the crimes of polygamous organizations (welfare fraud, tax evasion, extortion, kidnapping and transporting victims across state lines, domestic and sexual abuse, etc.), with a dual-purposed goal of helping states investigate such crimes and protecting the victims who have suffered from them.

Now listen in to yesterday's "Values Bus" kickoff, where Concerned Women For America leader Tamara Scott clumsily connected this proposal to gays and their ring fingers:

Outrageous. This was a Senate leader looking at problems like the Warren Jeffs situation and seeking real world ways to protect the vulnerable human beings who suffer at manipulative hands. And of course the subject is polygamy/polyamory, a *BIBLICAL* concept that predates civil marriage altogether and certainly existed long before any LGB activist pushed for civil same-sex marriage recognition. Yet Ms. Scott, as part of the undying effort to overturn the Iowa marriages that have harmed absolutely nothing and no one, using Reid's focused proposal as some sort of "proof" that gays are building a slippery slope?!?

What next, Ms. Scott: Gonna accuse HBO of canceling "Big Love" in order to hide the pro-gay evidence?

**But hey, at least she's never gone even further, from "pol-ee-uh-more-ee" right into people marrying buildings…
