CBN puts Thomasson in pundit chair; Manages to get through segment without (again) equating gays with child molesters
Over the past month, Randy Thomasson has likened LGBT-inclusive teaching to sexual molestation/car collisions:
"If a speeding car was on a collision course with your child, wouldn’t you do all you could to rush to rescue your child? And what if you found out someone was planning to sexually molest your child? Nothing could stop you from rescuing your boy or girl. Think about it. If we are so concerned about the physical safety of children, why wouldn’t we also protect their mental, emotional, and spiritual safety? Realize that the raft of school sexual indoctrination mandates imposed on all children in California government schools amounts to mental molestation." [SOURCE]
He also said that LGBT-inclusive teaching is "less than animal":
"This philosophy essentially turns man into an animal, but less than an animal, because beasts follow God's natural order of sexuality." [SOURCE]
For just two examples. It's the kind of rhetoric that led Prop 8 attorney Andy Pugno (a big NOM ally) to once admit Thomasson "represents the extreme fringe."
Though apparently Randy's not too extreme for the Christian Broadcasting Network, since they just brought him on the air as a Prop 8 expert for the purposes of overselling yesterday's ruling:
Fair enough. I think our opposition movement should up his profile even more. I say to put Randy on the damn stand, letting him explain to the U.S. Supreme Court why, exactly, we gays are "less than animal" or why telling a town clerk they have to marry gay people is like telling Nazi officers they must "gas the Jews."
Bring it.
