Video: Rhode Island ignores changing tide, forfeits related flow
Upon announcing his support for marriage equality, Rhode Island Governor Lincoln Chafee specifically mentioned the economic boon that the right would bring to the state. This WPRI report will now show the economic drain that the denial of said right is currently imposing:
The are no less than five states within driving distance of RI that have marriage equality. Seriously -- what possible reason does a loving same-sex couple who wishes to pledge a commitment and start a shared life have to plant roots in the one, now-isolated area that has made a decided choice to treat them unequally?
*Oh come on, Mr. Plante. Just think of all of those "accessories" gay couples will adopt:
