CLASS? Dismissed.

by Jeremy Hooper

The STOPSB48 coalition, which failed last fall at stopping California's LGBT-inclusive teaching law and is currently trying to gather enough petition signatures to make this election cycle, has relaunched its site and rebranded all of its materials with this new name:

[Class Act 2012]

It's one thing to work to make the public school day less representative of normalcy and therefore tougher for growing LGBT kids. But to call that effort a "Class Act"? Gee, I'd hate to hear what this crew considers to be gauche!

We'll have to wait to see if this "Class Act" gets enough signatures to push the matter before voters. Although I hope current LGBT students actually don't see any of it, since the very idea of grown adults fighting against nothing more than acknowledgement of their existences is itself a hostile act/ reason why inclusive teaching is even needed!
