Openly-elected NYC official sets mid-May 'I do' date
Christine Quinn, New York City's current Council Speaker and expected 2013 mayoral candidate, has announced that she will marry longtime partner Kim Catullo on May 19 of this year:

I couldn't think of anything all that unique or newsworthy to say about this and considered not even posting it. But then I realized: That a high-ranking official's same-sex wedding isn't all that unique or newsworthy is really the story here, isn't it?
