You Can Run But You Cannot Hide group is, well -- running and hiding
You may have heard about the anti-gay messages that Junkyard Prophet, an outreach band affiliated with the SPLC-designated hate group You Can Run But You Cannot Hide, delivered to a junior and senior high school audience in Dunkerton, IA. If you don't already know the controversy, go read David Badash's thorough report here.
But now get this. Today in a special RSS feed that directly delivers anti-gay YouTube comment to my Mac (aren't I lucky?), I got the following notice from the You Can Run But You Cannot Hide Group, purporting to show the yet-to-be-seen clip of what was actually said during the assembly:
But then, just minutes after the clip was posted, this was what the YouTube gods returned:
Removed? Wait, why the run? Why the hide? Isn't this group made up of tough talkers who don't back down, supposedly?
Now to be fair, the group heads have issued a press release that says they will release the footage at some point. So what will be interesting, now that we've seen this preview, is to see whether we get the full 3:34 video that's teased above, or if perhaps some cold feet in regards to some of the prior-posted clip's more revelatory comments led the minders to run and hide in the editing room.
*UPDATE: The video has been reposted.
