Don Wildmon's affinity for boat shoes, graphic tanks, and kitschy books that were once blogs remains in limbo

The American Family Association's offshoot, (nowhere close to)One Million Moms, is continuing its war on the Urban Outfitters catalog:

"We also contacted Urban Outfitters by e-mail with an e-mail action alert, voicing our concern about their catalog and that we find it inappropriate," [Monica] Cole details. "It's offensive to [us] and our families, and … we wouldn't be able to shop in their store knowing what type of advertisements they perceive as normal." [ONN]

To remind you, this is what ADA/OMM doesn't want folks perceiving to be "normal":

And no, it's not the pairing of a blue and white sundress with black, wedges that the Cole finds objectionable. The problem lies with the very chaste same-sex kiss. Personally, I've seen more provocative same-sex smooches at Southern Baptist Convention closing night parties. But then again, the AFA and OMM have a militant agenda to push. Affection between two women? It's a non-starter for the groups who want to define normalcy through their own, extremely narrow, extremely heterosexist lenses.

We'll have to wait and see if Urban (whose CEO made past donations to Santorum) reacts to this positively, negative, or at all. Plan your ironic message tee consumption accordingly.
