Don't let the media divide NOM supporters (by accurately noting NOM's own stated tactics)!
NOM continues to redefine shameless:
Damn you, liberal media. You're always going around making note of what organizations themselves write into their board packages.
What next lamestream media? Going to accurately report that NOM's Starbucks boycott is being outpaced to the tune of 615K+ petitions and has had a reverse affect on the company's stock? Going to keep pushing those activist facts on the American public? Huh? Are you? ARE YOU!?!??!
MORE: In the org's latest e-blast, Brian Brown has the audacity to write this:
"NOM has marched arm-in-arm with countless African American and Hispanic pastors, community leaders and grassroots supporters. They know us. They know our hearts. There is no way the other side can divide us." [SOURCE]
Right, Brian -- we're not going to divide anyone. That's what you all tried to do. By your own admission.
What Brian continues to overlook is that African American and Hispanic NOM supporters were JUST AS EXPLOITED as gay people were. NOM stated its desire to monolithically pit those communities against the gays and provoke the latter into attacking the former. That's seriously what they said. One need not support same-sex marriage to find offense in that disgusting game plan!
The key distinction is that in NOM's plan, gays are the ones who are to never receive defense of any sort. They planned to divide us all, yet always present gay equality supporters as innately wrong. And that's what we're still seeing now in NOM's clumsy damage control. Even though they dished hurt all around, once again, gays are presented as the enemy. To hear NOM tell it, gays are the ones on the attack. Gays are the ones trying to "divide." Gays are the attackers, even though NOM's sole purpose for existence -- SOLE. PURPOSE! -- is to hurt same-sex couples who wish to marry. In saying all of this nonsense in order to save face, NOM is actually doing the very. same. thing. that earned controversy in the first place! They are playing the same cynical game, standing atop a perch and screaming "FIGHT, FIGHT!" in order to keep culture wars firing around them
NOM has been caught dirty-handed. Brian Brown can spin this all he wants, trying desperately to hold on to the six figure paycheck that accompanies his cynical job. Things are only getting worse for NOM. In fact I would argue that the more NOM responds, the deeper the hole.
