Non-NY-based NOM thrilled to drive NY GOP candidate to costly distraction
This reminds me of when Mitt Romney bragged, in multiple debates, about forcing Ted Kennedy to take a mortgage on his property:
I just don't get the mentality that leads a candidate or special interest group to brag about financially wiping out the opponent. Yes, of course NOM is going to spend a hell of a lot more money than a state Senate candidate. That goes without saying. But that an out-of-state group like NOM is doing this, out of spite, on a closed subject, at a time when New York state is plagued with real problems, for no greater reason than the Republican candidate's choice to voice his own moderate conscience? And then bragging about it? Isn't that a glaring example of what people loathe about Americans politics?!
