For Dan Gainor, peddler of absurd claims
I've been on television multiple times.
I've been on the radio many times more.
I've been to countless conferences and met thousands of politicos (from all sides).
I'm super active on all social media and all of my profiles are public.
I've given many speeches on behalf of my cause.
I was one half of the first couple ever to be in Martha Stewart Weddings magazine.
I've written a whole book that marries my life story with my work.
I work with other groups in named roles.
NBC News recently highlighted my husband and me as the first same-sex couple to implement Facebook's new icons.
But after listening to Dan Gainor, the VP of Business and Culture for the uber-conservative Media Research Center, go on Bryan Fischer's radio show and say something bizarre about the Chick-Fil-A controversy being drummed up with fake grassroots bots that weren't really human (I'll try to get audio for exact words), I got the sense that Mr. Gainor meant people like me. So I tweeted Mr. Gainor about it. Here's how that played out:
I don't know, if I headed something calling itself the Media Research Center, I'd probably do a little more research. About the media. Before spouting off.
But bring it, buddy.
Holy crap—even after I tweeted him this link, he's still saying stuff like this:
Um, because it's not my personal account. This is not a vanity project. This is my work.
But next time you're in NYC, please, by all means, swing by 57th Street. I'll buy you a coffee (from the pro-equality Starbucks, natch).
