Is the MD Marriage Alliance's Facebook moderator covertly working for our side?

by Jeremy Hooper

Three things about this…

Screen Shot 2012-08-06 At 4.35.19 Pm

1) This was from a 2-1 opinion that was ultimately overruled by the state Supreme Court

2) Continuing on in his (shortsighted) majority opinion, Justice McGuinness said marriage had to be passed by the elected representatives through the democratic process

3) Maryland is a state that has done exactly what this lower court ruling demanded: the fairly elected legislature passed a clean bill that was then signed by the fairly elected Governor.

So basically, this MD Marriage Alliance moderator just argued against his own point, since we are talking about a state that did exactly what this Appeals decision suggested to be kosher. Now, that point will surely be lost on the team that thinks the only way to ever pass marriage equality is in the confines of science fiction. I'm confident, however, that Maryland's future will be written by those who do allow gay citizens *some* path towards fair freedoms and not the ones who are forcing us to thread a camel through a needle just to get some rights around here.
