Today: MN For Marriage hosts 'ex-gay' advocate Barb Anderson

by Jeremy Hooper

This is Barb Anderson:

-- Has suggested that "a lot" of gay teens have been sexually abused, which is why they are "sexually confused" and in need of "change":

-- A vocal supporter of the scientifically-discredited "ex-gay" movement:

-- Says Gay Straight Alliances "affirm sexual disorders"

-- Claims supportive young people are getting on a "train that is leading down a track that is going to be very harmful to them and their friends":

-- Claims the "ex-gay" movement deserves "equal time" in public school discussions:

-- Pushes Paul Cameron's widely discredited "research" to position homosexuality as "three times more dangerous than smoking":

-- Says "the greatest threat to our freedom and the health and well-being of our children is from this radical homosexual agenda that is just so pervasive" (end of clip):

-- Anderson's body of anti-LGBT work was the focus on a lengthy Rolling Stone article about the rash of LGBT suicides that have plagued her local community

So what does all of these myths about gays and their need to "change" earn Ms. Anderson? Why a plum role with the Minnesota For Marriage campaign, of course:

And on National Coming Out Day, no less. Makes you wonder what definition of "coming out" the Minnesota For Marriage campaign itself holds, considering the naked "ex-gay" advocacy of the campaign's official outreach voices!
