Breaking: The Associated Press to acknowledge married gays' realities
After a few weeks of public frustrations, the AP has announced this change:
husband, wife Regardless of sexual orientation, husband or wife is acceptable in all references to individuals in any legally recognized marriage. Spouse or partner may be used if requested.
New entry in the AP Stylebook: husband, wife [AP]
A great victory for the "Um, seriously—we have to ask for this in the year 2013?!" lobby.
