NOM joins forces with Family Research Council, undeniable anti-LGBT animus
The National Organization For Marriage has announced a new partner for its upcoming marriage march:
That would be this Family Research Council:
--Family Research Council president Tony Perkins:
“Those that understand the homosexual community — the activists — they are very aggressive…everything they accuse us of they are in triplicate. They’re intolerant, they’re hateful, they’re vile, they’re spiteful…Our response to them should be one of love and of compassion. But let me tell you what, it's not love to be silent in the face of those who are advancing an agenda that is destructive to our society and, more importantly, destructive to individuals involved. To me, that is the height of hatred—to be silent when we know there individuals engaged in behavior, activity, and an agenda that will destroy them and our nation. We’ve got to be very careful to guard our hearts — that we in the midst of this battle don’t become so calloused, that we realize they’re not the enemy. The enemy is simply using them as pawns. They are held captive by the enemy….”
MUCH MORE NASTY RHETORIC: TONY PERKINS [GLAAD CAP]
--Family Research Council Sr. Fellow Peter Sprigg:
“The most effective way of reducing teen suicide attempts is not to create a 'positive social environment' for the affirmation of homosexuality. Instead, it would be to discourage teens from self-identifying as gay, lesbian, or bisexual." [SOURCE]
…
“I would much prefer to export homosexuals from the United States than to import them into the United States, because we believe that homosexuality is destructive to society.” [SOURCE]
…
"I think there would be a place for criminal sanctions against homosexual behavior.” [SOURCE]
--Family Research Council VP of Church Ministries Kenyn Cureton:
"Who do you think is ultimately behind the efforts to advance the radical homosexual agenda, indoctrinate our children, and ruin our military, now? Who's behind the efforts to get God out of government, Christ out of culture, and faith out of public life? Who's behind it? Well, I think we've got a pretty clear answer. [laughter] The Devil is behind it! So, the real enemy…it's not the poor, deluded souls who are advancing these ungodly agendas—they're simply pawns in the hands of their malevolent master. They need to be set free by the grace of God in the person of Jesus Christ—amen?…As you think about this battle in which we're engaged, you need to think about who the real enemy is that we're fighting against here, and that is, the fact is, we're up against the organized, mobilized, demonized forces of hell itself. And really, to the victor goes the prize of the America our children will inherit, so this is a fight we dare not lose. Amen?"
--Family Research Council Executive Vice President Jerry Boykin:
"Where does it stop? If we're protecting or providing people special rights because of their sexual orientation, then how far do you go with that? What about pedophilia? What about bestiality? I mean, those are all sexual preferences, so how far do we go with it? And some would say, 'well, thats ridiculous'—well, no it's not ridiculous. My generation would have said it was ridiculous to think that there would ever be same-sex marriage in America, but look how far it's gone. So where does it stop?"(begins at :50)
Today's Issues [AFA]
This (and more animus than I could ever put in one post) is now all a part of the National Organization For Marriage's march. Yes, the same one NOM and allies have tried to compare to Dr. King's own peaceful events.
