Illinois' 'protect marriage' group continues to admit true agenda: 'changing' gay people (#il4m #morethanmarriage)

by Jeremy Hooper

This whole year I've been telling you that the Illinois Family Institute is unlike other statewide "pro-family" groups in that the folks who mind the shop will not allow their organization to be guided by more pragmatic gatekeepers like NOM or Frank Schubert. The IFI is proudly anti-LGBT in every way, and the IFI's top staffers (David Smith and Laurie Higgins chief among them) are aggressively in support of the scientifically discredited and exceedingly offensive idea that gays can and should "change." The IFI doesn't care to stay on message; the IFI makes its animus for homosexuality fully known.

Here's the IFI's latest promotion of "ex-gay"ness, in which they once again promote their ally and regular speaker Linda Jernigan:

Ex-Gay Movement, Alive, Strong, and Moving Forward! [IFI]

This is your story, Illinois media! This organization has no intention of stopping at the marriage bill that's current in front of the state legislature. Left to their own devices, they would not only try to stop Illinois' gay citizens from marriage—they would try to stop them from BEING GAY AT ALL!

Let's stop playing this game of "traditional marriage" pretense. Judge this organization by its own battle plan!
