Making gays sound nasty is what NOM now does.

by Jeremy Hooper

The National Organization For Marriage is continuing to fan the flames, hoping that the growing majority of Americans who support marriage equality will eventually turn against us. Here's the latest attempt from NOM's Comm. Director:

We want "gay marriage to rule every aspect of public life"? What the hell does that even mean?!

We aren't pushing for our marriages "rule" anything, much less everything. But we are demanding equal treatment, full benefits, and deserved respect (or, at the very least, tolerance). Of course NOM wants to make that reasonable ask sound like some sort of unreasonable imposition, because NOM and its staffers quite literally pay their bills by undermining same-sex couples' freedom to marry. They are losing in every venue, so making us sound "militant" is the only think left in their play book.

This crude and corrosive tactic has failed throughout history; it will fail now.
