Baby, she's a firework: Katy Perry calls out Australia's anti-equality opposition leader
On a Sydney radio show to which he called in to express his daughters' fan-girl adoration, Oz oppo leader Tony Abbot got more than he expected from the American pop star. Katy Perry told Abbott that she would not vote for him because of his backwards stance on marriage equality, and, more notably, she encouraged Australian voters to follow her lead:
"I love you as a human being but I can't give you my vote," Perry said, adding: "I just don't believe in your policies so that's what a lot of people should be doing."

I actually love this. For one, I love that Perry is so supportive. But beyond that, I think it's fantastic that she had the moxie to say this to a
politico who called in thinking he'd get on-message fluff. We could use more of that in our political discussions here at home.
Call 'em out!
